Best Wine Tours in Orange

Wine tours are educational and fun experiences.  On a day tour, besides tasting wine, you will get to see the vineyards and (if permissible) walk the rows of the season's harvests. Depending on the time of year, you may even be invited to pluck a few grapes and sample them straight from the vine. Wine tours in Orange culminate in wine tasting at cellar doors overlooking beautiful vineyards in the shadow of Mount Canobolas in the central west of NSW.

An Orange wine tour is a learning experience normally guided by an experienced tour operator. So if you don't know anything about wine before you go, that's fine.  Most wine tours are filled with other visitors who want to learn, but it is easy to feel intimidated the first time you join a large tour.  Another option is to book a private tour or even ask about bespoke itineraries or tour packages.  Remember that everyone had to learn at some stage, so don’t feel embarrassed to ask questions and to try new and different wines. Our wine tour company is locally owned and experienced wine tour operators will introduce you to some of the best  cool climate wines in New South Wales  Remember that your winery experience could  be a memorable lasting experience  when you spend some time at our cellar doors in Orange and meet locally owned  cellar doors by talented winemakers.

Most wineries are open to the public for a large part of the year.  Why do wineries open their doors to the public? Wineries use cellar doors mainly to introduce the public to their wines, different styles of wine making and to sell wine to you.

There are two ways to take part in a winery tour:  you can plan an itinerary on your own, using a map and the internet.  Or you can enlist the guidance of an experienced, locally owned tour company that plan wine tours in the Orange wine region.  If you've never been on a wine tour in the Orange wine region before, you might like one planned by a professional tour operator that has inclusive wine tours and can also provide private tours.

Once you arrive at the winery, most tours are similar. You'll walk through the vineyards while your host discusses the types of grapes grown in the cool climate of the Orange region.  If the wine making area is open to the public, you will see wine in stainless steel vats and oak barrels that are in different stages of the aging process. You then enter a tasting room where you can sample from four to six different types of wine and often there is a visitor guide on where the grapes were grown and a food and wine matching chart.

If you show up prepared to learn and are interested in broadening your wine tasting horizons, you are sure to enjoy yourself on a wine and or food tour in Orange.
